Here's an excerpt from my 2019 journal on the same day at almost the same time. i was still working at the old hospital of 18 years and didn't know that things were getting ready to get all shook up...for the better.
"Just had my of the morning convo with my man - routine - nothin really to say. 'how'd you sleep', 'what are you doing', 'are you busy', 'will you pay the ...', etc. but ya know- i got somebody i can call every morning and expect to answer the phone who loves and cares for me. he did tell me about seeing 6 deer in the yard this a..m. and the new alan eckert book he's started after reading 'the frontiersmen'. he loves american history. this morning on the back deck, it's cloudy and cool and misty at 69*. feels perfect out here. quiet - occasional dog/car, but mostly just the buzz of insects and birds, which is awesome. out here is very comparable to (if not better than) mom's front porch in ways because it's more private. i'd like to make it more so before it gets too cold to enjoy it out here. but right now, we've got vacation to pay for in a month, so that's the main thing. i looked at bills vs income this morning and we pay out about $2000/mo in bills now, not including food and we bring home about $5000. i'm pretty thankful for that!!! once we get fidelity and the car paid off, that'll look even better=about $800+ to our good monthly. that's if everything with jobs and such stays the same at this time. i have a feeling that's gonna change, but even if it does - it'll change for our good!!! and i believe that. yes - i really do.
also: this i read on insta this morning:
'stop asking yourself what you want, what you desire, what interests you. ask yourself instead: what has been given to me? what do i have to give back? then give it.' - cheryl strayed (i love her book too)
